Abstract

In this study, we investigated R.D. test which developed to solve the problem of time, cost and equipment in clinical use of previous caries activity tests, to demonstrate its clinical usability and liability as caries activity test.
The Resazurin Disc method has a characteristic color reaction and we observe the color of these discs changed from blue to bluish violet, raddish violet, and than to red or colorless with saliva within 15 min at 32-37¡ÆC.
We investigated the relationship between df-t rate, R.D. test score and Snyder test score with statistical analysis.
A clinical trial was carried out for 103 kindergarten children aged from 3 to 6 years.
A statistical significance was obtained in the relationship between the R.D. test score and df-t rate. (p < 0.05)
Analysis of the Snydertest score also revealed a statistical significance between df-t score. (p < 0.05)
And we observe a high correlation between the R.D. test score and the Snyder test score.
